Up-To-Date information via RSS Feeds

RSS is a great way to stay informed about what is going on in the life of the church. For those who have subscribed to Feeds before will welcome an easy way to stay informed. If you are new to RSS Feeds we will introduce you to the technology.

First, the "RSS" acronym itself isn't that important- in fact, there is disagreement on what it actually stands for. The front runners are: Rich Site Summary and Really Simple Syndication. The important thing is that it will inform you when the certain areas of the website have been updated. To Make use of website you will to do the following:

  1. Subscribe to the feed in order to be notified.
  2. Have a tool that can read the RSS feeds- they consume what the site is "feeding".

These tools are often referred to as "News Aggregators", "RSS Readers" or "News Readers". There are an abundance of tools out there. Some a web based, some work with an email client, and some are applications. Each will have it's own method to subscribe, so we won't try to so you that here. Below is a list of the most popular.
