A word from our Pastor

The branches on the trees are starting to get tender as the sap begins to fill them and the buds will be shooting forth which tells us that spring is near. Over the next three weeks winters brown dead look will come to life with colors of green, highlighted with a splash of every vibrant color the mind can imagine. It will be as if the world around us has been resurrected from a months of death, this will all happen because the sun is coming closer to earth and warming the surface. When the surface gets closer to sun and warms up it changes the whole appearance of it. Even the sounds around us will change as the birds begin to scurry around singing and looking for twigs to build them a new nest to raise their chicks. Let’s face it the sun changes things when it gets close to the earth, the radiant power is amazing, it even helps us deal with depression as it give us vitamins that are needed and raise our serotonin levels.

Obviously you know that I am not talking just about the sun, but trying to point out that it is very important for us to draw nigh to the Son. If we hope for a vibrant life and desire new growth being fruit producing Christians we must draw strength from the Son. The Bible teaches us; “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:1-5 (KJV)

Your ability to be a productive Christian is based upon how close you are to the Son. So without hesitation draw nigh to God today and He will draw nigh to you.
